Blue Ridge Assembly. We are located in western North Carolina, nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and offer year-round vacation and conference meeting facilities.Please read the following information so that you can determine whether or not you qualify to apply to work for us. If you do not qualify for either of these programs, we cannot consider you for employment. Summer Work /Travel Program
$550
You must be a current full-time university student to be eligible for this program and can only work during your summer break from school (maximum four months). You must provide proof of your status as a full-time university student. You must have sponsorship from your own country, preferably from a YMCA.
Trainee/Intern Program
($880 and up depending on length of training + $60 per month for insurance)
You must possess the education or at least five years experience related to the services provided by YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly in order to be eligible for this program.
These include: management, international relations, hospitality, tourism, outdoor
recreation, hospitality, food and beverage, business or operations. The visa may be issued for a maximum
18 month period. When you apply for employment, please indicate the total length of time you wish to remain at YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly.
International applicants who are offered employment will access the appropriate visa application papers on the International YMCA website and submit them to Elaine Godfrey, Staff Development Director . A prepayment for the visa is required. This averages $200-400 depending on the visa applied for and the length of stay. This payment is non-refundable in the event the visa is denied. YMCA
Blue Ridge Assembly will payroll deduct the remaining cost of the visa from your
paychecks during your stay with us. The application process takes up to three
months to complete; and applications are accepted on a continuous basis.
